A belt test
What happens on test day
Before
Your coach tells you when you are ready, at least a week ahead. There is nothing to prepare beyond the practice you already do.
On the day
Each student shows the falls, grips and throws they have drilled, with a partner, and the coach decides who is promoted.
Watching
Parents and friends sit on the bench along the wall. We ask for a quiet room, phones on silent and no flash.
