How tuition works

What sets your plan, what it covers and how to end it.

  • What sets tuition

Your plan depends on who is training (a squad member, a teen or an adult) and how many classes you want each week. Our figures are on our enrollment page, and we go over them with you at your first class, in writing, before you agree to anything.

    • Squad, teen or adult plan

    • Classes a week

    • Open mat only

  • Registration

A joining fee covers your uniform and first belt and the paperwork for your first day. It is due when you sign up, and the amount is on our enrollment page.

  • Holding a place

Squad places open in September and January. When the squad is full, you can join the waitlist: places go out in the order families asked, and we message you when one opens.

  • Billing

Monthly, by autopay through our members' portal. Belt tests and tournament entries are billed separately when they come up.

  • Siblings

If more than one person in your household trains, ask us how a second member is handled when you join.

  • Withdrawing

Squad and adult plans start with a 12-month term and then run month to month. To cancel, tell us in writing with 30 days' notice; the month in progress is billed. Ask us about pausing for injury, travel or a busy season.

    • 12 months, then month to month

    • 30 days' notice, in writing

  • Missed classes and make-ups

Missed a practice? Join the same level in another group that week or the next. If you will be away longer, ask us about pausing.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Some costs sit outside your plan: a judo uniform, belt tests, tournament entries and travel for the squad. Each is priced when it comes up, and our list is on our enrollment page.

    • Belt tests
