Safety routines
Class size
Squad practices have up to 20 members, teen classes up to 16, adult classes up to 24 and open mat up to 30.
Drop-off and pickup
Teens are signed in at the front desk and leave with a parent or a named adult, unless a parent has okayed it in writing.
Mat rules
Clean uniforms, short nails, no jewelry and bare feet on the mat. Partners tap and stop right away.
Coaches on the mat
Every class has a coach on the mat, and squad practices have a second adult in the room.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class and belt tests
Parents and friends are welcome on the bench along the wall at any class. Phones stay on silent, and filming needs the coach's okay. At belt tests and tournaments we ask for a quiet room and no flash.
What to wear and bring
Until you have a uniform, wear a plain t-shirt and shorts or loose pants. No jewelry, nails short, hair tied back and bare feet on the mat, with sandals to and from it. Bring a water bottle and a towel.
When to keep your child home
Stay home with a fever, a rash or a skin infection that could spread on the mat, and come back when you are better. Tell your coach in person about an injury so the drills can change; please don't send medical details through the website.
Drop-off and pickup
Teens are signed in at the front desk. They may leave on their own only with a parent's written okay; otherwise a parent or a named adult collects them. We ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for major holidays and when local schools close for snow. Closures are posted on our enrollment page and sent by text and email.
Leaving the program
Tell us in writing with 30 days' notice; the month in progress is billed. Ask us about pausing for injury or travel.
Absences and late arrival
Text the front desk if you will miss squad practice. Practices start on time; if you are late, wait at the edge of the mat until a coach waves you on.
